As vice president for humanitarian missions and international development at Bode Technology Group, Ed Huffine has overall responsibility for providing identification assistance and mass disaster response for regions that have experienced conflicts or natural disasters as well as assisting nations develop or upgrade their forensic systems. Providing these types of services requires frequent interaction with political, scientific, and diplomatic representatives of nations and various non-governmental organizations and potential donors. Mr. Huffine has more than 18-years of experience in forensic science and human DNA identification. His forensic career began in 1990 when he was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration and tasked with developing a DNA laboratory to assist in the identification of fatal air crash victims and to help upgrade their existing toxicology capability. From 1994 – 1999, he worked for the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory where he became the Chief of the section responsible for the identification of missing American service members from several wars. Mr. Huffine served as the Director of the Forensic Sciences Program for the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) from 1999 – 2004 and was responsible for developing a comprehensive forensic system to assist in the identification of tens of thousands of people missing in the wake of the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. In September 2001, Mr. Huffine received a lifetime achievement award for his contributions in the field of human identifications. Mr. Huffine holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Cameron University and a master’s in Biochemistry from University of Oklahoma.

A scientist by profession is involved in developing technology for the production of various drugs and pharmaceuticals. He did his M.Sc. in Organic chemistry (Kanpur University) and Ph.D. work on the topic “Synthesis and biological activity of novel anthelmintics†(Kanpur University). He has got R&D experience of more than 30 years in the synthetic Organic and natural product chemistry and involved in developing technology for the production of various drugs. He is presently working on a drug for Brain Stroke.He is the first person in the world to start a novel concept called “SCIENTOONS†a new class of cartoons, which are based on science in the year 1988. He is the father of SCIENTOONICS, a new branch of science that deals with science communication. He coined this term in the African Science Communication Conference held at Dr. Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University at Port Elizabeth, South Africa in the year 2006. He has delivered more than 650 invited lectures so far in India, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, USA and Caribbean countries covering more than 24 different topics. He has written a book entitled “Scientoonic Tell Tale of Genome and DNA†with Dr. Lalji Singh, director, CCMB, Hyderabad and father of DNA fingerprinting in India.

Professor Seyed E. Hasnain (DoB: April 13, 1954), Ph.D. (JNU, Delhi), D.Sc. (h.c.)is the Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University of Hyderabad (UoH). While working at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, he was appointed as the first Director of the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, (CDFD), Hyderabad, and in less than 7 years he made CDFD a gold standard for DNA analyses services and research in basic biology. Having made extraordinary contributions to Molecular Infection Biology and Epidemiology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the TB causing bacterium, he has ~200 publications in peer-reviewed journals of high impact, and ~dozen patents. He has mentored ~hundred PhD, MD and Post Doctoral students, four of whom received the INSA Young Scientist Medal.
